In addition to the qualifications listed above, Dennis is also a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers.

As a Certified Financial PlannerCM Practitioner, Dennis assists his clients to achieve their lifestyle dreams and goals through the financial planning process by ensuring their finances are well structured and organised for the future. He works with them to identify and access the most appropriate financial products for their requirements at a fair price, just as he does for himself and his own family.

Dennis was born and educated in Wellington, where he currently lives and works with his wife, Alison, who handles the office's day-to-day accounting functions. It's very much a family affair as one of their adult children, their son Lance, has also joined NZFP as a Certified Financial PlannerCM Practitioner.

Dennis enjoys a variety of interests, including fishing and tennis, but apart from being a great financial planner what is particularly remarkable about him is his interest in natural history, especially native fauna conservation. For some years now, he has worked closely with the Department of Conservation to conserve and breed unique and endangered species of New Zealand lizards.

Dennis is involved in the captive breeding components of DoC's recovery programmes for lizard species facing imminent extinction. His other role is to help increase public awareness and support for these rare and beautiful native animals which are unique to New Zealand, before it is too late.

NZFP strongly supports this advocacy role as there is a very strong correlation between the skills required to plan and successfully conserve a threatened species and for an individual/family to build and protect their financial independence and lifestyle.
